About DRMTS
Dr. Merryellen Towey Schulz (DRMTS) is a professor who has had a long career as a student, a teacher, and a professor. A parent and a grandmother, she is extremely proud of her four adult children, and is devoted to her eight grandchildren. DRMTS is a teacher educator with specializations in educational technology, educational research, teaching science, teaching math, multicultural education, language arts and children’s literature and art; and is passionate for all learning. Experiences teaching students at every level from first grade through doctoral studies have taught her much and enriched her life.
DRMTS loves butterflies for their beauty, variety, and Christian meaning, and enjoys reading, gardening, swimming, quilting, travel, drawing, painting, and sculpture. Huge concerns about the future of schools and children worry her. The suppression of creativity and creative thinking in schools is very troubling to her.
